The Ligons Scholarship

for high school seniors PLANNING TO attend a FOUR-year university

To apply for The Ligons Scholarship you must be a graduating high school senior from Laguna Creek High School, Sacramento High School or River City High School and must be planning to attend a four year college with a major in Nursing/Health Science, Health Studies or Biological Science, English, Communications, Journalism or closely related fields.

Submit the application upon the due date to the school counselors or use the school website.

Once your application is selected, you will be interviewed by The Ligons Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors for final selection.

A $1,200 award, along with other gifts from our partners, will be granted to the student at Senior Award Night at each local high school.

What we’ll need from you:

Complete name, address, email, cell phone number and your GPA.
Your desired major in college.
A 1-2 page essay or a 2-minute video explaining how this scholarship would assist you in achieving your educational goals. Be detailed about your hopes, dreams and how your education plays a role in that.
One letter of recommendation. The letter must support the applicant's desire to continue studying in your related field.
